Mate Lasić Rembrandt , SALOME, oil on canvas

SALOME – 80x 60 cm, oil on canvas.

Salome as seen by Mate Lasić. In addition to portraits of Mate, he sometimes paints some biblical motifs, and annually only 1-2 paintings from his oeuvre are offered for sale. Mate is not a painter with whom you can come and buy a painting, he is not "gallery-oriented", and it is difficult to part with paintings. Forgotten Dalmatia is the only medium in Croatia that sells Mata's paintings. More about Mother:

Salome was a historical figure who lived in the first century. Herod Antipas was her stepfather and she is mentioned in Matthew 14:6 and 6:22, but without a name. Information about her name comes from the Jewish historian Josephus Flavius . Salome danced a seven-veil dance for her stepfather at his birthday party. Rejecting one by one all the veils in which she was dressed, in the end Herod Antipas promised her as a reward to fulfill whatever she wanted. After the dance, at the urging of her mother, Herodi jade, she asked to be brought to her the head of John the Baptist on a platter.
